FAQ

At Unique Optical, we pride ourselves on being a premier provider of exceptional optical services. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and personalised care, we offer a wide range of services designed to meet your eye care needs.

How often should I get my eyes tested?

If you are health and symptom free, eye examinations are recommended every 2 years. It is

recommended that people over the age of 65 and those with health conditions such as diabetes

have their eyes tested every 12 months. If you notice any changes in your vision, increased

eyestrain, or pain in the eyes it is recommended you come in sooner.

How much do eye examinations cost?

Our fee for a standard comprehensive eye examination is $90. This consultation usually takes 30 to

45 minutes. Medicare benefits are payable for most consultations. If you hold a valid pension card

eye examinations are billed to Medicare. We recommend a OPTOS Widefield Retinal image for first

time patients and as routine for your next examination. You may also be recommended an optical

coherence tomography at your appointment. Fees for these are billed in addition to the consultation

fee.

Can I Wear Contact Lenses?

Most people can wear contact lenses. Options for contact lenses will vary from person to person

depending on your expectations and the purpose of which you want contact lenses for.

Where Are You Located?

Our practice is located in Manuka on the Manuka Terrace. We are above Coles supermarket.

Do you provide eye tests for children?

1 in 5 Australian children have vision problems. We provide specialised eye tests to make sure that

any vision problems are detected, and any learning difficulties related to vision are corrected.

What payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards as well as AFTERPAY and QOIN for spectacle and sunglass

purchases.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please contact our practice as soon as possible and no later then 24 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to show or provide notice may result in a no show fee.
